Slug Pellets, Seeds, Soluble Plant Feed, Multi Purpose Compost and a Water Supply.
Preparing the Soil
Avoid using shaded that receive no direct sunlight. To ensure your soil is at its best, mix in multi purpose compost using a rake, or alternatively, use a soil improver.
Sowing the Seeds
There are various types of seeds available, ensure you have researched all variations of seeds and choose one that matches your requirements.
Sowing the Seeds
It is highly recommended to begin planting beetroot March or April, and radishes in May or June. Be sure to sow thinly otherwise you could encounter overcrowding problems.
After Care
You will need to protect your fresh seeds from slugs and snails, this can be done by sprinkling slug pellets on the soil around the rows of seeds. When feeding your water, once a fortnight add a soluble plant feed to your watering can, in dry spells, ensure you water the seeds thoroughly.
Harvesting
When your beetroot have reached the size of a golf ball, they are ready to be thinned. Radishes are ready at the point when they begin clashing with eachother.
