Seeds are best to be sewn in Early Spring. Ensure the soil is ridden of weeds that could potentially swap the seedlings. The ideal ground will receive direct sunlight.
Sowing the Seeds
Seeds can be scattered however it is recommended they are planted in lines in order to be identified. Seeds only need to be drilled around half an inch into the soil. Once sown they can be watered immediately.
After Care
Keep the soil moist at all times, however avoid drowning. To encourage fast growth and full flavour feed plants in garden soil every three weeks with a solution.
Harvesting
Cut headed lettuce with a knife when they are large enough, use scissors to trim the other leaves of herbs and loose-leaf types of lettuce.
