Ideally, the best option is to already of prepared the bed the previous autumn, however the process can be completed without this. Add plenty of well-rotted manure to the soil. Just before you intend to sow your seeds, add a fertiliser.
Sowing the Seeds
Seeds are best sewn in early spring, separate seeds by around 35cm and rows by around 60cm. Seeds should be sown at a depth of around two or three centimetres.
Aftercare
Keep the plants well watered, and control any growing weeds. Pile soil around the stems to provide the stem with more stability.
Harvesting
The corn is ready for harvesting when the silky tassels at the end of the cobs turn into a shade of brown. To harvest simply twist the cob away from the plant.
