Materials Required
Paint.
Preparation
It’s best to make sure that the day you’re going to paint your fence is going to have a good weather condition or your paint could be ruined.
Cleaning the Fence
Use a cleaning brush to get rid of any dust, chippings and ensure you’ve removed anything else that could affect your painting.
Preventing Paint Drips
Apply a dust sheet at the bottom of the fence and cover up anything on the fence you don’t want painting with a sheet.
Painting
Before painting, put on your face mask to be safe. The most effective technique for painting a fence is to start at the top of the fence, and the vertical parts of the fence, once you’ve finished this you can then start to paint the face of the fence, do this slowly so you can get all parts of the face.
To paint with a sprayer it is best to stand at least 20-30 cm away from what you are spraying, with a sprayer you are going to do the same technique as you would with a brush.
Wait for the paint to dry according to the label on the paint you have, if you need to apply a second coat wait until it dries.
