Tools and Materials Needed

Dust Cloth, Soft Cloth, Towel, Warm Soapy water, Bucket, Sponge, Long Stick, Adhesive Tape, Vacuum Cleaner

Preparation

Use the vacuum cleaner to clean as much dust as possible from in, around and underneath the radiator.

Cleaning the Back of the Radiator

Use a dust cloth to wrap around the end of the stick. This should be long enough to reach down the back of the radiator. Use the tape to secure the cloth to the end. Lay a towel under the radiator to catch and dirt and dust. Use the stick and, working down the back of your radiator, push the dirt and dust out of the bottom. Repeat this for each section.

Wiping Down

Fill the bucket with warm, soapy water. Dampen a cloth in the solution and use it to wipe down the radiator. Dry with a soft cloth to avoid rusting.
