How to fit a tv aerial point
Pages: 1 All

Tools Required

Power Drill, Screwdriver, Wire Strippers and a Hammer.

Materials Required

TV Network Kit, Screws, Mounting Bracket, Bolts, Cables, Cable Clips, Sockets, Bolster and a Splitter Unit

Positioning the Wires

Ensure cable routes from the position for the splitter to the position for the sockets are prepared and, if required, from where the cable enters the house to the splitter.

Creating the Mounting Box

If you’re using flush-fitting socket outlets, fit mounting boxes for them. Create a appropriate entry hole in each of the boxes, install a grommet and screw the boxes in place. Feed the aerial cable through the wall to the chosen position for the splitter.

Laying the Wires

Lay cable along each route from the splitter position to the socket outlet positions. Use cable clips to secure it. Avoid bending it sharply. Before you connect the cables, use a wire stripper and remove around half an inch from the end of each cable.

Connecting the Wires

Clamp the cable into the splitter socket and plug the opposite end into the socket and television set.

Testing the Aerial Point

Turn on your television and test if your aerial cable has been installed efficiently.
