Tools Required

Plastic Spacers, Pencil, Tape Measure, Spirit Level, Trowel and a Sponge.

Materials Required

Grout Mixture and a Water Supply.

How to Tile Around Difficult Places

  1. Ensure the area you are intending on tiling is clean and all debris are removed.
  2. Tile the areas that are easy to access, such as straight edged areas that require no tiles to be cut.
  3. Use a plastic spreader at right angles to develop ridges with its teeth on the tile adhesive. The ridges will ensure the tiles adhere to the existing tile.
  4. Bed and press the first tile at the corner.
  5. Place the next tile into position and insert another tile spacer.
  6. Use a spirit level to ensure the row is as straight as possible.
  7. Continue this process until you have covered the full area.
  8. For the hard to tile areas, use a piece of paper and fold it into the position of the tile, use this as you would tracing paper to create a tile in the required shape.
  9. In the gaps, apply tile adhesive. Press the tiles to insert time spacers into these gaps.
  10. Allow the adhesive to harden over a twenty four hour period, before removing the spacers.
  11. Use a trowel to push the grout into the gaps between the tiles ensuring that all of the gaps are filled.
  12. Wipe the excess grout mixture from the tiles after it has dried over a thirty minute period.
  13. Clean the area with a damp sponge ensuring a clean finish,
