How to cut template letters from MDF
Pages: 1 All

Tools Needed

Jigsaw, Tape Measure, Craft Knife, Scalpel or Scissors, Pencil.

Materials Needed

Some MDF, Glue Stick, Sandpaper.

Step 1 : Choose Font and Stencil

Once you have chosen your font and letters, print them and cut them out. Once done you can glue them to your MDF, or you may want to trace them onto the MDF with a pencil in case the jigsaw tears them.

Step 2 : Cut out your Stencils

By either screwing them down or clamping them to a surface, slowly take your time and cut around each letter. If you need to cut middle parts out, take a drill driver and a nice size wood bit, slightly bigger than your jigsaw blade and drill through. Now you can carefully cut the middle part out.

Step 3 : Sand Down

Once you have all your letters, sand them down until they're nice and smooth and look sharp.
